A number of prestigious awards were made at the Irish Neurological Association meeting:

The John Kirker Prize for best Epilepsy related paper was awarded to Dr. Stephen Hunt for his paper 'Topiramate therapy in human pregnancy. Preliminary experience from the UK epilepsy and pregnancy register'

The Harold Millar Prize for best overall presentation was awarded to Dr. Peter Kinirons for his paper 'A novel locus for Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy in French Canadian families maps to 10p11'

The prize for best Neurosurgical paper was awarded to Dr. Desiree Fernandez for her paper 'Fatal Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): A 6 year audit'

The BiogenIdec Prize for best Multiple Sclerosis related paper was awarded to Dr. Lisa Costelloe for her paper '20 year follow up of a benign MS cohort'
