A clinical Update in Neurology Meeting will take place on Friday 26th September 2003 at the Ardilaun Hotel & Leisure Centre, Galway. Click here to download map. The aim is to provide up-to-date information on a range of neurological conditions, with emphasis on the latest treatments. The conference will be aimed at non-neuroscience clinicians. Speakers

The Institute this year welcomes three eminent guest speakers, each of whom are acknowledged as expert in their specialist area.

Professor Andrew Lees is Professor of Neurology at the Rita Lila Weston Institute of Neurostudies, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University of London. Professor Lees concentrates his research on clinical pharmacology of Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, and molecular pathology and genetics of tauopathies.


Professor Peter Goadsby is Professor of Clinical Neurology, Institute of Neurology, University College London, where he directs the Headache Research Group. He has published widely on migraine, idiopathic headache and cluster headache. He is Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London and at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond St, London.

Dr. Richard Barbano is Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Centre, New York. His research interests centre on peripheral neuropathies, neuro-oncology and dystonia, and Botulinum Toxin therapy.

The major topics of Epilepsy and Stroke will also be presented and current management discussed. There will be significant time for discussion with Speakers and participants
